Biography

Eloi Ragot (FR/BE/DE) is a film composer, multi-instrumentalist and sound designer bestknown for creating intense, sensorial and immersive soundtracks.

His work includes the original music to international series such as the critically acclaimed Belgian Noir series La Trêve (The Break, Best French-Speaking Series Award @ Series Mania Festival), the crime thriller series Keizersvrouwen (Women of the Night, co-written by Hannes De Maeyer), Belgian supernatural thriller series Unseen (Invisible), German-Japanse football-centered thriller The Window and RTBF/ARTE's dark comedy series Des gens bien. The latest series Eloi scored - called Haus aus Glass (Inside A Family) - aired on ARTE & ARD earlier this year.

Besides TV series, Eloi has recently been working on the Canadian feature film Jour de merde released last year, the German family film Ponyherz and the award-winning American documentary One With the Whale.

Self-thaught pianist and guitarist, Eloi's early experiences in rock bands influenced his musical style, infusing his compositions with a raw and edgy quality.
While studying the trumpet, Eloi was exposed to the world of jazz music, with its improvisational nature and elaborate harmonies, which allowed him to experiment with diverse musical elements and embrace a more fluid approach to composition. Occasionally DJing at parties during his university years and his immersion in electronic music when he moved to Berlin, further enriched his musical palette and ignited his love for exploring complex sound textures, adding a captivating depth to his compositions.
Moreover, his study of orchestral composition in Brussels provided him with a deep undersanding of orchestration techniques, enabling him to write rich, immersive scores to evoke specific emotions and enhance storytelling.

Eloi was selected to many 'artists-in residence' programmes including the prestigious Berlinale Talents & Cannes' Next Step Musical Session. As a passionate music producer, Eloi likes to combine field recording, sampling, electronic and acoustic sounds to create exciting textures and soundscapes.

As a French native speaker, Eloi is also fluent in English and German and works between Brussels and Berlin.
